Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Military Dial" ref. 14800ST

This a bit more rugged yet remarkable mid-size Royal Oak comes as a full set and was produced in 1995.

The Reference 14800 was in 1992 the first Royal Oak with a leather strap and, in our opinion, the only Royal Oak with a leather strap executed with the correct proportions.

The 36mm stainless steel “mono block” case is in great condition and was relatively expensive to produce (AP only designs the current models as a 3-piece case design, as it is much cheaper and faster to produce), this “mono block design” gives the AP 14800 that special vintage vibe what we’re looking for.

When you take a look at the right angle, you will see a sophisticated design solution by Swiss designer Jörg Hysek, the leather strap is clamped between the underside of the case middle and a long screw-down plate.

The steel folding clasp is also integrated into the design language of the Royal Oak, when the clasp is closed, the buckle on the leather strap is inspired by the upper half of the Royal Oak 14800 case design.

The rare black military dial gives this watch a more rugged look. The hours are indicated by Arabic numerals and the "Royal Oak" logo is displayed above 6 o'clock.

The markings on the dial and a white hands are crafted in white, providing that in the army desired good readability and contrast.

The shape of the hands is also special, note the larger counterweight of the seconds hand or the sword-shaped hour and minute hands. All slightly tougher, within the limits of the distinctive Genta design.

Audemars Piguet automatic 2225 calibre movement is fully serviced and runs perfectly.

It will be delivered including the typical octagonal green box, original paper (booklet).

Overall, the watch is well sized, svelte and dressy, this is the type of Royal Oak that works dressed up or down, no matter the occasion and it’s also an interesting investment piece.
